Burn a new CD. Do md5sum on the iso. Burn at 4x or less. Do not use CD-RW

Is the screen that asks you for your password identical to the one that you see when you boot without the LiveCD? If the screens are identical, try your normal password for that computer. If that works, then you probably aren't actually booting from the LiveCD, even though you think you are. Make sure that your computer is set up to boot from CD in your BIOS settings.
The screen being displayed is of Ubuntu and there is no doubt that it is booting from CD only. I dont have any password for the computer.
It seems there is no problem with the CD as it is working ok on another pc. The md5 check also is ok. In the pc , I am having problem, at the begining of the process of running the liveCD, when selected F4-Safe graphics mode, it is not asking any username/password. ( The PC in question is using axper mother board -XP-M8ARS482( socket 939), AMD Athlon64-3000+ CPU).
Is the F4 mode , having less features than the normal mode?
Thanks for the earlier reply.
