Just wondering what you guys think is better to run on an ipod. Which offers better features? Easier to use?
Rockbox
IpodLinux
Don't mess with it!
All three!

The last time I tried to load ipodlinux most normal ipod functions were not usable. With that said, my ipod turned into a 300 dollar paper weight. Not cool. RockBox on the other hand made my ipod more functional. There were more games, all of the regular ipod features, plus an equalizer, and support for more media features. My only real complaint is the lack of video support.
OMG!!!! Rockbox by far...
IIRC, iPodLinux was developed as a "hey, wouldn't it be cool if we could put linux on an ipod... lets try it!" Later, Rockbox came along and, in an effort to add functionality and flexibility to the ipod, used the iPod Linux platform to develop a functional user interface.
iPod Linux is just a kernel and basic groundwork, whereas Rockbox is a functional replacement to the DAP's software, running off the iPod Linux kernel. So use Rockbox, its great. I have it on my old Archos Jukebox 6000, and it really brought the think back to life.
Linux user since January 31st, 2006.

Banshee is not an iPod fireware replacement! Anyway, go with Rockbox. Even if ipodlinux was better, it hasen't seen active development in a long time and only supports the older 'pods.
What is iPod fireware ? Do I need it or is it built into my nano
ipodlinux is easier to put on your ipod...its also easier to add applications. rockbox looks better though.
ipodlinux is actually how i found linux in the first place
