    Scanner won't connect: Pop OS (18.04)

    Cannon scanner (Canoscan Lide 30) won't connect. It does get recognised by Simple Scan but an error appears when scanning. I have tried this on another Pop OS on another computer, it works so it's not the hardware.

    Everything used to run smoothly. This happened when I installed other scanning software: Skanlite & gscan2pdf. I have removed these and done a clean up and is still the same. No broken packages that I can see.
