I've searched for a week now and cant find a clear answer. I would like to use gnome-accounts but when I run my VPN I don't want gnome logging to my google account without prompting. This is an issue to me for two reasons; 1. Google detects it as someone besides me trying to log into my account and sometimes puts a hold on my account for that reason. 2. It takes away the privacy that my VPN provides by logging my ip to google servers (or any other cloud accounts I might log into).

What I would like is a way to temporarily pause the service or better yet that requires and active initiation at the start of each session.

I've searched this out a lot and can't find anyone even discussing this issue. Are there any ideas out there beside sudo apt purge gnome-accounts?
