    Driver for Canon MF4500 printer

Hi, I'm very new to Linux, just installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

trying to get my hardware to work... when I go in "printers" I do see my Canon imageclass MF4500wd but then I don't see it in the impressive list of drivers the next screen offers me...

I've tried selecting a couple of them (not sure if there are over a hundred or not) but my test page never comes out...

I do have the installation CD but when I put it in it doesn't automatically start + I have no clue what I should do in order to manually install the driver...

    Thanks!

Welcome. If you install the driver from the link provided above then do the steps you have done (Printing>Add Printer>etc.) you should find the driver available when you get to that section of 'Add Printer'.

Incidentally, there doesn't appear to be an MF4500 that I could find. Sure it's not the MF4450? Anyways, that should work.

Way to go and nice work. Enjoy, and thanks for marking the thread as 'solved'.

I'll keep an eye out for the external hard drive thread. Good luck.
