keyboard failing and keys stuck - dell studio laptop

    Hello,

I have ubuntu 9.10 karmic koala and since one of the updates the keyboard has started to miss keystrokes and get keys stuck. I start getting things like "anddddddddddddddddddd" in the middle of my texts. I have checked on windows and previous live versions of ubuntu and it is fine.

    Any ideas?

I had this problem, but now my keyboard doesn't work at all. I don't know if it's related, but it's only true in xorg, if I cntl alt F1 (using usb keyboard) I can type fine.

Maybe your repeat rate/interval is set too fast? In LXDE I have an option for it under Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse. I can't imagine GNOME/KDE omitting anything that's in LXDE.
