Thumbs up Can't see Samba shares

Sometimes you run across a problem that you just can't put into a Google search phrase.

I have installed Samba, configured the shares, and set up usernames and groups. Now I am trying to install a media program (XBMC) on a Windows client box.

On the XP box, a folder pops up on the desktop called "server (Samba, Ubuntu)." When I go into said folder, it's empty. But, if I enter "//server/Media/" into a command box, the directory opens fine and I can see the subdirectories.

I need to point XBMC to see the shares on the server, but like the desktop shortcut, "//server" is empty. I have also tried mapping the Media directory to a drive and using the IP address.

My thought is, if I can see the directories through Network Neighborhood, then XBMC will see them too. Anyone run into something similar?
