    Installation Issue...

    Hey guys, Im trying to install latest Ubuntu onto my new comp, however it does not seem to be working, if I try installing it the kernel load bar will finish, then it will just sit on a black screen, If I try running it without installing then it will just show a black screen with a flashing _ in top left corner.

    Comp Specs:
    Intel 2 Quad Q6600
    nVidia 9500GT
    2G Ram
    750Gb HDD
    Asus P5Q IP45 MotherBoard.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance
    Trev

    Did you check your CD for errors?

    //Edit

    Have you tried to install using the SAFE GRAPHICS mode parameter ?

    If that does not work, then download, burn and attempt to install from the ALTERNATE (text based) CD version of Ubuntu.

    Tried, and failed, it looks like the installer is crashing on the black screen, as the keyboard is not responding (pressing num/caps does not cause the light on it to change)

    Re: Installation Issue...

    Not tried the alternative CD, I didnt md5 it, and It was written at the highest speed I can, but I have used the disc to install it on my laptop fine, so I shouldn't think there was a problem with it then.
