Same here! I think diablo75 is right. It might be something with the Compiz enhanced zoom. It just stopped working and my mouse went gaga. I just switched mouse without help, but this trick worked. Havent tried to reboot or disable the compiz feature since im at work and are a bit busy.

I'm running Karmic Koala on a Dell 1737. I had to use the superkey + scroll down in order to get the annoying behavior to stop. If I ever want my computer to become annoying again, I can try superkey + scroll up.

    Thanks!

Re: Why is my mouse moving itself?

I have the same problem on both my laptop and desktop. The mouse will center on the active window whenever I alt-tab or use ctrl-w or -q to quit the current active window.

This only seemed to happen after installing compiz config settings manager. After reading the above replies I disabled the "Enhanced Zoom Desktop" feature in Compiz, which fixed the problem.

It's unfortunate because I really liked super-mousewheel to zoom into stuff on my desktop. I thought it was a great feature, but I'd rather live without zoom than have my mouse try and out-think me. I personally despise any kind of auto mouse movement.

    I hope this helps someone!

I had the same problem with the mouse sometimes moving to the center of a window that just gained focus. Thanks for the suggestion to disable the Enhanced Zoom Desktop in Compiz. I can confirm that it seems to have worked for me too. My guess is that it's a Compiz Zoom problem. Kind of annoying--I liked the super scroll zoom too...
