Frets On Fire 1.2.451 Released!

The open-source Guitar Hero clone Frets On Fire has been updated to 1.2.451!

Some of the changes in the new version:

HOPOs (Hammer-Ons/Pull-Offs) fixed
Memory leaks cleaned up
Bug fixes

For me, the game no longer crashes while running Beryl (still not recommended, but nice!). I was able to play for several hours today without a single crash, in fact.

I should take the time to mention this fabulous game works famously with any Guitar Hero-compatible PS2 guitar and a USB adapter. These are much cheaper (and tons easier to find) than the Xbox 360 X-Plorer guitars. I have used mine for about a week now with no problems whatsoever.

I know for a fact there aren't any of the new version, unfortunately. There were some old ones on the site, however the domain-hosting service the FoF project used has recently decided they violate some kind of TOS and currently none of the original links work.

By the looks of things they're moving the entire site over to sourceforge, so hopefully the rest of the site should be back up soon.

Ooh, that would rock if I could use my wireless guitar! Guess it's time to get an adapter.

I love this game

I don't have one of the guitar hero controllers tho

so can only really do the easy level, but it's really addictive and fun to play. It seems to run better in linux than windows aswell

Real new features:
* It shows your running combo-total (number of notes hit)
* Cool wobbly effect on long notes
* 'lefty flip' for those godless left-handed people
