Oh, that's a good idea! I'd wondered if that was possible, but I'd always thought of using w and h, which weren't pre-defined, but of course conky_window.width and .height are already pre-defined, so that would do it!

    Also...

I put up another script for drawing a plain background to Conky...You can specify colour, alpha, and rounded corners. I'm on a roll, kids!!!

    Also...again...

If any of you could ask the devs one (non-technical) question, what would it be?

    ONE! Only one?

    OK:

Why does lua leave a line line the problem I described?

    Oh, too technical you say!

What's you're favourite movie of all time?

Oh sure, and us non-techie types are supposed to understand what that means?

I understand y-x ... errr co-ordinates and /2 = 1/2 or 0.5 blah blah, but how do you use it? So width and height divided by 2 would put the cross-hairs dead centre of target ... but ...

Can you show a sample in a "Lua for Dummies" type post how and where to use it?

That's it, since the mice said I could go, I'm grabbing my towel and leaving with the dolphins. "So long and thanks for all the conkys!"

Just joking, the mice said that conky is a big part of the equation and no one is allowed to leave until after the Ultimate Conky is created.

Ima gonna cheat on this one....

    TWO questions!

    A) Would drawing graphs and bars via lua/cairo be more efficient than the way it's done in conky? (The answer is probably 'no' due to conky being compiled, but what the heck.)

    2) Does it really make a difference incorporating simple bash commands, like curl, into conky or does it just limit the configuration from benefiting from updates in the repositories?

Conky: ... no such configuration: 'normal'
