Hi, I bought an Amazon ergonomic wireless mouse (made by amazon) and there are two side buttons which control the back and forth functionality in a browser. I want to disable these buttons and have tried basically everything with no success. I have tried xinput, imwheel, xmodmap, udev, and xbindkeys. Nothing seems to work. I don't know if it is because i am in wayland but I haven option to start a xorg session at login. Not sure if that would matter. I am on Ubuntu 24.04.
Here is a video that might give you an idea on how to disable mouse buttons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrevwjeLTnQ

I tried that - with xbindkeys and xvkbd. I even tried to just reassign each side button to page up and page down like in the video but that didn't work.
Nevermind - nothing worked and I tried everything. I just physically removed the two side buttons. It was driving me crazy because I would be playing a game and I would inadvertently hit the back button and would exit the game while I was playing... Thanks
