Webcam video software that actually works

I'm looking for Webcam video software that actually works - to record videos and post them on youtube using my webcam.

Cheese is simply a disaster, on all 3 of my computers it doesn't work properly.

And OBS Studio is so complicated I haven't been able to figure it out with my pea sized brain.

    Suggestions please.

Cheese is about the simplest video recording software available. You might try reading the info at their site at the link below.

OBS is not very hard to get running and it will give you very good results. I would take another look at it.

You might get more useful help if you posted the actual problem rather than "Cheese is simply a disaster". I've installed and used cheese and it seem simple. I also have zoneminder installed and that is definitely a complicated piece of software. Maybe reading documentation on zoneminder will make cheese look a lot simpler but you need to post specific problems you are having not general comments. No reason you should not be able to use cheese to create videos.

if you need to know that just look at any of the threads from jonfisher, michael-piziak or any of his other user names. Same guy same question. All the specs are there.
