Kernel 5.8 RC (Release Canidate) series

Kernel 5.8-rc1 is available from kernel.org and the Ubuntu Mainline PPA, although the file names are currently incorrect missing the -rc1.

I have only had it running for a few minutes:

    Code:
    doug@s18:~$ uname -a
    Linux s18 5.8.0-050800-lowlatency #202006142031 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jun 14 20:39:09 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
We have a running thread during each mainline kernel release cycle.

Just a caution before kernel 5.8-rc3:

    I saw this, copied below:

will be in -rc3, most likely.

Anyone have any idea when Canonical will sign a newer kernel than 5.4.0-28?

Thanks. I was hoping for 5.6 or better for AMD's k10temp sensor support.

I guess we may not see that until kernel freeze in October, and jump straight from 5.4 to 5.7 or 5.8.

You can easily install a newer kernel if you need/want from https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
