In my 18.04 Ubuntu, using gnome-shell, I lock my screen using S-L (it is the default screen shield). The screen locks and blanks and stays like that for a while.
If a leave my computer and come back after a long time, the lock screen is on and I cannot trust it not to burn my monitor in the long run.
The same thing happens if:
1. I lock the screen using S-L, screen blanks
2. move the mouse, shows the lock screen
3. lock screen stays forever.
Is there an option I should set for that so that I can trust that the screen will remain blank? Should I switch to other screensavers?
This happens on my laptop AND on my desktop
