changing the default "track 1.wav" for audio CD viewing in file manager

Not only does "track 1.wav" have a space in it but also tracks labelled thus sort in a far from useful order when sorting by title or anything else for that matter. I'd like to change it to track0001.wav or something similar. Rather than using a complicated rename script can somebody please tell me where in the OS is the directive that determines file names when looking at the files on an audio CD. Thanks.

I don't believe you can change the file name on a CD unless it is a rewritable disk. If the file is on your hard drive just right click it in file manager (nautilus) and choose rename.

As was mentioned above the nautilus file manager will just read what was written to the CD?
You will need to have changed those track names before writing them to CD.

There is a graphical file renaming utility called Thunar.
Very useful but of kit - but it is only for changeble files already on your hard disk or for write-enabled files.
