    17.10 on a Lenovo T60?

I see that Ubuntu 17.10 is available. I have an ancient Lenovo T60, a Dell Inspiron and a couple of Lenovo towers, all with Intel CPUs. The only Ubuntu 17.10 .iso images I can find all have amd64 in their urls.

    What to do?

    Thanks. - Erny

AMD64 isn't actually restricted to AMD CPUs. As long as the machine is 64 bit, it should work.

That is, providing there is enough RAM. For an older machine, Xubuntu or Lubuntu may be a better choice.
BACKUPS are unsexy — until you discover you should have done one yesterday.
Spare your nerves and do one before you upgrade or install.

Thanks. I'll try it out on my spare Lenovo tower.
