I think it is!
But being a tester I am used to little paper cuts..LOL
there were no show stoppers for me at least.

It works well for me. I'm on Manjaro though and they keep Plasma pretty up-to-date. I'm not sure if the story might be different with Kubuntu.

Here's my desktop. I'm currently using the stock Breeze theme. The bottom bar auto hides so it's not visible most of the time. Previously I had a partial bar on the side with an icons-only task manager that worked more like a dock, but I'm trying this out for now.

I'd at least play with it on a LiveUSB or VM for awhile if you're interested. It works well enough for me to use everyday (and I love it ).
