Acer Aspire 5735

Hello,
I am running Ubuntu 13.04 AMD64 (daily, of course) on my Acer Aspire 5735 laptop. Although it runs swimmingly, I have an issues that I can't work out on my own. When my laptop shuts down because of the battery running out, I turn it on, but the POST screen does not show up. The computer then proceeds to shutting down after about 20 seconds, turns itself on again, does the same 20-second thing, then shuts down, but doesn't restart on its own. This happens even with the charger plugged in. I have to disconnect the charger, turn on the computer, and remove the battery while the computer is (not) POSTing.
It can't be the battery, because it happened before and after I bought a new one.

How does it work using 12.10?

My acer aspire 5735, has had similar issues, but i have found it is better not to let
the battery get so low that it shuts down. I plug in when i see the warning icon or
before if i notice the battery getting low.

It's done the same since 12.04.

Have you thought of upgrading the BIOS?
