How to delete icon/theme sets in Gnome

In Unity it's done via the Appearance stuff, but where can I remove icon/theme sets in Gnome?

File system usr/share/icons or home , hidden folders .icons , but be careful if you are going to remove the default / ubuntu supplied sets . If they are in the file system gksudo nautilus will be needed to remove them .

Thank you. I also thought manual delete looked to be the only way of doing it.
