So with 11.04, what is the official way to turn off desktop effects without going through the settings and turning them off one by one? (I don't use Unity, one thing to keep in mind)

Good question^. I use Unity and I'm wondering how turning off Compiz will affect it, since it's designed to run on compiz. (I guess I could try Unity-2D to test the games).
Thanks for your help R33D3M33R.
still no cogs
still no braid
still no a.y.i.m.
Osmos, Crayon physics, hammerfight, aquaria, machinarium, r.o.t.t., w.o.g., are fine though.
But braid and cogs, the 2 I wanted the most..
Nada. still
First time I bought any kind of games for anything in many years..
and can't even play the ones I really wanted, except crayon physics.
meh
Shoulda stuck to not bothering with games.
I knew I was being dumb..
but whatcha gonna do.. lol
I got all except for Cogs to work.
The Frozenbyte bundle was very disappointing in terms of them not working on my computer. I did have Trine on my PS3, though, so it doesn't matter much.
At those who have problems:
If you haven't done so already, you should ask for help at the various links given here:
https://humble-bundle.tenderapp.com/...e-bundle-3/faq
Spr0k3t: I'm not using Gnome/Unity so I know only about the KDE way to turn it off: Alt+Shift+F12. Try the solution from airtonix.
Rasa1111: You should check this Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.icculus.org/
If you can't find the solution, report a bug.
Thanks for the links R33D3M33R, I'll check them out.
So far I have tested these:
Crayon: doesn't even launch, but works on Steam
Osmos: works both natively and through Steam
And Yet It Moves: works natively but not through Steam
I liked the first two, but the third one is boring.
