    That's not what I said I said it was not specific to Ubuntu.
    If you don't make backups of your important data, your data is obviously not important to you.

    As far as I know it's a linux in general problem, which unfortunately persists to this day.

    A very impractical workaround to the problem is adding each and every hyphenated url to /etc/hosts, like this: "174.121.194.34 p0keball-.tumblr.com"

    The aforementioned IP is of 'tumblr.com'. But, as all of you can see, very impractical.
