I haven't heard of it. And I wouldn't put any time into developing it either if I were you.
Not that I'm a legal expert or anything but a checkbox saying I agree and a log of the users IP address should be more then enough. If you truly need a signature then I think that would be better done by mail/fax, I know for certain that I would not be able to write my signature without a tablet.

Don't know if your site is going HTML5 yet but a nice example here. There is a "SaveCanvas" function I am sure, must dig it out which you can then use to create a PNG *example
