Can't get live disk to boot

I see how helpful you all can be, I am trying to load Ubuntu 9.10 on my LapTop it's a GateWay, M/N MP8708, I've tried the LiveDisc install to dual boot and It wont boot into Ubuntu and I've tried booting from the disc and it won't recognize it (I've changed the boot order in the BIOS and still nothing)... Please help I keep getting all kinds of errors...

Sounds like a bad disk. Try burning the iso onto a fresh disk and try again.

try "safe graphics" option during boot (one of the f keys , I think it's F4 )

What are the errors you are getting?

As I stated, I keep getting errors when trying to install Ubuntu... Actually I haven't even got it to BOOT yes, I've changed the BOOT order in BIOS, tried 9.04 & 9.10 (both 32/64 bit), ended up buying RegCure to fix the supposed registry problems I thought I had (and did)... But I'm still getting errors... Please help...

I have tried the multiple discs and none have worked (4 so far)... And the slowest burnspeed I have is 10x on Gizmo. I am trying the "CD Boot Helper" and receiving the following:

An error occured

could no retrieve the required installation files
--
I'm doing this because it is seemingly impossible to boot from the Disc Drive...

What do you mean "check it" and what is MD5?

if i remember when you boot from disc there is an option to check disc to see if all files are correct correct me if i,m wrong but i,m sure it,s on the disc
