PPA for easy transparent (RGBA) Gtk

I was following this tutorial and decided to try to package it.
I put it in a ppa along with other packages that I patched so they work well with transparent Gtk. Here are some screenshots:

    Instructions: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/RgbaGtkWithPPA.
    Enjoy!

Edit:I made a Maverick entry in the PPA, but I haven't had time to test it. So it would be great if someone would tell me if it's working.

Also, thanks to Aleksey Shaferov who wrote the RGBA module.

The method to add the PPA is not correct on the Wiki...

EDIT: Wiki edited by me, i hope you agree.

I've always wondered why the Murrine RGBA stuff makes the shadows disappear from under menus. As you can see in the screenshot there is no shadow under the menu.

Nice but since you can only set transparancy values before building I'd rather compile myself. Or has that changed?

If tweaked a bit this could end up making a nice visual effect. I am not very fond of transparency though, so I doubt I would use it unless it is very subtle.

It's a bug in Compiz; it won't draw shadows for RGBA windows. This also explains why there's no shadow behind the Google Chrome window when you don't have native titlebars. (because the round corners of the Google Chrome window are drawn using RGBA)

If you want a composited desktop with shadows behind RGBA windows, you can use gconf-editor to enable compositing in Metacity.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.

Ah thanks for that explanation. Solves that mystery for me.

As far as I know it hasn't. If you want to recompile, you have to modify a few lines near the top of src/support.h if you want to change the opacity.
