Install problem

I was trying to install 9.04 an ended up with a small problem. I get an error.

Saves_oem_Strings_devices: out of memory

Then when the desktop loads, the background is there but the top and bottom bars with the applications menu and task bar flash in and out.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

What kind of video card do you have installed?

It is a radeon 9600.
