specifining partitions manually

well, I partiotioned my hhd with ubuntu live cd so i had 2 small partitions of about 5 gbs where im going to install ubuntu 9.04 and windows xp i already instaleld xp on the first one, but when i go to the installation process im stuck into how should i specify the partition, i know i have to do it manually, but after that i dont know, should i use ext2? also, what do i put in mount point?
