    thanks for your proposal, but I don't like things working out of the box
    Do you use 8.10 or 9.04 ?
    The package you ask me to install, does it replace the complete compile procedure of xine-lib-1.2, or it contains only headers to make the compilation possible ?
    I will look further this Week-end

    thanks

    Answering your questions

    a) I use 8.10, 32bits
    b) If you follow the compile process succesfully you end up with a .deb package that contains the library binaries and dev headers. That is the .deb I posted (within the .rar) What this .deb does not do is check you have all the dependencies installed.

    Good luck!

    hi art2003
    ::system
    MB asus P5K
    Core 2 E660
    3GB RAM
    Skystar HD 2
    Geforce 9200

    I already have the VDR to work with xine, but I have some problems with HD channels, especially with the sound ... failure much time.
    I use OSS and increased the buffer in the config $ HOME / .xine;

    HTML Code:
    # Number of audio buffers
    # Numeric, default: 230
    engine.buffers.audio_num_buffers: 2500

    # Number of video buffers
    # Numeric, default: 500
    engine.buffers.video_num_buffers: 1500
    But still without success.
    You have this problem?

    Re: HTPC DVB-S2 VDR 1.7.5 CCcam Howto

    Hi, these are my current settings:

    $ HOME / .xine

    audio.synchronization.av_sync_method:resample
    audio.synchronization.force_rate:48000
    engine.buffers.audio_num_buffers:230
    engine.buffers.video_num_buffers:1500
    engine.buffers.video_num_frames:22

    and in /etc/vdr/setup.conf
    xine.modeLiveTV.prebufferFrames = 16
    xine.modeLiveTV.prebufferHysteresis = 0

    I am told the next version of xine-plugin will allow to specify different buffer for SD and HD

    Whats the cause of this error when install Xine-Lib 1.2 CVS, I've tried to shorten the ffmpeg, as well as tried another version of ffmpeg, but can't seem to get past this.

    well, don´t enable libxvid support, you don´t really need it for this project.
    x264 is for HD TV but xvid is not necessary

    Hi Art, Yes I did read your earlier post suggesting that, I simply use this line.
    Code:
     ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-gpl --enable-postproc --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libvorbis --enable-pthreads --enable-libx264
    But stil get this error.
    Code:
     collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make[4]: *** [xineplug_decode_ff.la] Error 1
    make[4]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/xine-lib-1.2/src/combined/ffmpeg'

    make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/xine-lib-1.2/src'
    make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
    and I've tried a complete reinstall of ubuntu.
