This is what I did:
1) I downloaded the .iso image,
2) created a USB drive
3) Started ASUS boot manager,...
I suppose, the netbook's BIOS identifies your USB as a non-bootable device. This may happen if the ISO image was incorrectly recorded on the USB stick. Try recording it again.
You can solve your problem using Synaptic.
