Get the latest bcmwl-kernel-source package from natty... great idea!

I upgrade my kernel to 26.38 from the kernel team ppa, and naturally, the bcmwl package from the reps stopped working. This...

Thx for the reply. Is that the same folder that contains the scripts that run during the shutdown process, which you can actually read output from during shutdown? I was looking for something much...

[all variants] How to run script on shutdown?

I have a bash script I need to run when I shutdown my computer. I tried referencing it in /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default, but weirdly it only runs on a logout, not a shutdown. I think this used...

    Re: Setting up vim's :make

For future reference, this is how I solved it:

    set mp=(make\ $*&&\ rm\ XXX)

The $* after make is to be able to run stuff like "make clean".

    Re: Setting up vim's :make

I'm not surprised, my shell knowledge is rather flaky. I don't know half as much as I should. thanx for the quick answer!

    Setting up vim's :make

    Hi,

I'm trying to do something for a while now but I can't see to tackle it very well.

  12. [all variants] Synaptics touchpad driver: how to get a smoother scrolling?

    Hi,

If you really think about this, it's a stupid behaviour. Touchpad scrolling is implemented in the synaptics driver by emulation mouse buttons 4 and 5, which in a usb mouse is the events the...
  13. Re: Crossover bottle deb gives write permission only to root?

It's not a big deal, it's just silly that I have to do that to every application on every machine I want to install. I'd rather have the deb install properly and not have to worry about anything. I'm...
  14. Crossover bottle deb gives write permission only to root?

    Hi,

In a effort to organize my windows app installs, I tried to export crossover bottles as debs and install them that way. it works, but the bottle files are readonly for my user, hence I need to...

[all variants] Reload built-in kernel driver?

    Hi,

Given a normal kernel module, one can reload it by running rmmod and then a modprobe.
How can we do this if the module is now built-in to the kernel?

Module in question is uhci_hcd. Used...
  22. Re: Pthread Question: Is Unlocking a Mutex from a Different Thread Supported?

The questions is not whether it is or it isn't standard, a mutual exclusion lock is used to ensure mutual exclusion on a critical section. I don't see any of that in your code. Do your threads even...

    Re: Concurrency with Semaphores
