Wifi off after dual boot Ubuntu 22.04

Hi,

I purchased a new Lenovo laptop with Win 11 Pro on it. I installed 22.04 and now the wifi is turned off while using Ubuntu. It sees the adapter but not working. Still pretty new to Linux and this is what's installed on my laptop:

I first checked additional drivers and nothing shows up. I'm assuming the laptop sees the hardware but, must be a driver issue.

BTW, Laptop is dual boot. I've also noticed when you dual boot a Windows machine, it will either mess with the graphics or network hardware.

I suspect that you have no working driver, but let's check. Please run and post:

Turn off FastBoot (or whatever it is called) in W10

Here are my results....

Fast boot is off and I can see the network adapter turned on in BIOS but, it doesn't show turned on when I log into Ubuntu. I had a similar issue with another laptop I dual booted on a Dell in the past. I had to force the wifi on with instructions I found in forum.

Your wireless device has no driver. With a working nternet connection by ethernet, tethering or whatever means possible, open a teminal and do:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install git bc
git clone https://github.com/HRex39/rtl8852be.git
cd rtl8852be
make

Several possibly harmless warnings will appear.

sudo make install

Reboot. You will probably need to disable secure boot.

After each kernel update, you must recompile:

cd rtl8852be
make clean
git pull
make
sudo make install
