Pulse Has Decided to Stop Working

Hello, I'm running 16.04. This system has run essentially flawlessly for years. Yesterday pulseaudio decided it was going to stop working. I've made no changes.

    Here is the syslog output

I've already purged and reinstalled pulseaudio. It seemed to work yesterday but this morning, after boot up, I'm having the same issue.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Re: Pulse Has Decided to Stop Working

This issue persists. Some days it works fine others nothing. Sound settings shows no "device for sound output" or "device for sound input".

    Code:
     aplay -l
    outputs

    Code:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC269VC Analog [ALC269VC Analog]
      Subdevices: 1/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
      Subdevices: 1/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: HDMI [HDA ATI HDMI], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
      Subdevices: 0/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    so everything looks good there.

    Code:
    ps x | grep pulseaudio
    outputs

    Code:
     1502 ? S<sl 0:00 /usr/bin/pulseaudio --daemonize=no 3722 pts/2 S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto pulseaudio

    Any ideas? Thanks!
