Exclamation Very Low Screen resolution on Lubuntu 18.04 lock screen

Hello I've been a Ubuntu user since version 5.04 but I cant find any info on this issue so far

I have 2 machines a desktop and a laptop both have native resolutions of 1920x1080 and clean installs of Lubuntu 18.04 (64bit) the only issue I have is when I lock the screen
that lock screen has a very low resolution it looks like 800x600 or lower its fine on the login screen and the desktop screen after I login. Its the same way on both machines so I know its not just me
anyone else have this issue or any insight to fixing this minor annoyance?

    Thanks

    David

Re: Very Low Screen resolution on Lubuntu 18.04 lock screen

I'm facing the same problem. Cannot find a solution for this. I'm using Nvidia driver 340.106 (enabled it using the setting in Additional Drivers tab of Software & Updates).
Regardless of whether I lock the screen explicitly or it gets locked by power settings timeout, the result is a very low resolution of login screen after waking the screen up. After I log in, the resolution is restored to 1920x1080.
The only thing I can think of is to disable screen locking/turning off in Power settings.
