14.04 Server on Serial connection apu2 -- Starting up freeze

Hallo all,

I am installing ubuntu 14.04 on a apu over a serial connection.
Installed ok but after Grub it gets past ntp and then hangs.
Starting up ntpd [OK]
cursor on the left and that is all.
Can someone point me in the direction where I could look as what should be starting after ntp?

Pop out the storage, mount it on another Linux system and look at the /var/logs/ Anything interesting in there?

I have an APU2, but run a BSD on it, not Linux. Nice little machine.
