    Ubuntu 14.04 wired connection conflicts with wireless

    I am running Ubuntu 14.04 on a Toshiba Tecra R700. I have a working wireless connection, but if I plug in an ethernet cable I have a very slow intermittent connection. Network manager shows both the wired and wireless connections as being active.

    Is there a way to configure networking so that a wired connection automatically takes over and the wireless connection gets dropped. I thought that was the previous default behaviour.
