    Exclamation Beginner Needing Help! Please!

I would love to start using Ubuntu properly and have already installed Ubuntu (latest version) to my old HP Pavilion tx 2000 (previously running windows vista) from a Live USB (pendrivelinux). Now my problem is that when the LiveUSB is plugged in, I can go to Software updates and go to additional drivers and configure my 802.11 broadcom driver in order to use my wireless internet. However, when I boot the computer normally without the USB in it, I cant find the additional driver to activate my wireless connection! this is totally bumming me out and is way more complicated than I anticipated! If anyone can help me that would be AMAZING! Because I really want to have a good experience with Linux in general.

If you can use a cable connection to the internet you should be able to run those same updates and additional-drivers and get to the same point.

My colleague ajgreeny is quite correct. You should be able to hook up the ethernet temporarily and go to Software and Updates > Additional Drivers and select the driver for your Broadcom. If you have no ethernet capability, here is a method to do so without it!

Please don't be discouraged. Once you get connected, it's all pretty straightforward and fun from there.
