Frankly, you'd be flogging a dead horse.
Discourse doesn't suffer this problem because discourse is an ubuntu.com subdomain. So are most of the other Ubuntu websites which are linked to Ubuntu One SSO. The main problem here is that Vbulletin, the forum software, simply wasn't designed to work with SSO login, neither does it do so easily. That it does at all is due to custom code developed especially for the forum.
But let's get a few things clear now:
1 - The forum admins never wanted Ubuntu One SSO in the first place.
2 - The forum admins were not particularly happy when it was introduced.
3 - The admins are far from happy at the extra work that Ubuntu One SSO makes for them. And even more unhappy at all the extra work provided by people who do not read instructions before blundering in here with duplicate accounts.
4 - Ubuntu One SSO was always going to happen anyway, but was precipitated by the security breach last year.
5 - Ubuntu One SSO is unlikely to go away any time soon.
And as a constructive suggestion to this:
