Reaccessing Raid Arrays after upgrade failure / reinstall

Had a bad upgrade to 14.04 from 13.10 - had to reinstall a new version of 14.04. I have two large raid 1 arrays on this computer - but of course, they are not currently accessible by the computer. How do I install a raid array that already has data on it? I had originally used mdadm to build the arrays

When I run mdadm --examine on two of the (matching) arrays, I get the following. So I think I just need a way to combine them back into a single raid array.

    sudo mdadm --examine /dev/sda1

Re: Reaccessing Raid Arrays after upgrade failure / reinstall

    Figured it out. It's just

    mdadm --assemble --scan

    That was easy (if nervewracking)
