Jane, stop this crazy thing!
No my internet connection doesnt cut out, just the application I dont know why. Linphone can show me my webcam so its not that, and i can see the other persons webcam for a short time, bnut it just quits. How could i fix the problem? clearly it is not related to the software, unless skype and linphone both do something the same way.
Can anyone advise what i need to do to fix this problem? If its happened on two different programs, its not the programs, Its also very definately NOT my internet connection. Its something to do with video/voice calls as text messages are fine

I generally have not been happy with the way skype has developed over the last bunch of months. It's like a facebook desktop app now - which drives me up a wall. I just want video/voice features - that's what it's supposed to be for. If i wanted to see my FB wall - i'd log on FB.
I've found myself using google hangouts more and more. It's just easy, and just works. There's virtually nothing to setup or install, and you can run it from anywhere. Phone, Linux, Windows, Mac - doesn't matter.
Crinkle: You could try FaceFlow - it's browser based so no additional software is needed!
