HP pavilion g6-2305tx / ralink rt3290 not working with ubuntu 12.04 lts

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 lts on my hp pavilion g6-2305tx, I have dual-boot, means I have windows 8 installed along with Ubuntu, now I have my own wireless connection which works fine with windows 8, my wireless adapter is ralink rt3290 802.11bgn wifi adapter. When I go to terminal and type iwconfig it shows lo no such extension and ech0 no such extension, when I click on additional hardwares it doesn't show any hardwares but the Bluetooth seems to be working as it flashes in the menu bar, now without the working wifi seach I can't search my wifi network and can't update any packages neither can download applications. Please help me solve this problem..........
