Configure Touchpad edge scrolling to use left side?

Hello all,

I am using Ubuntu 12.10 x64 on a Dell Latitude E6410. Everything is working quite well, but I would like to configure the touchpad's edge scrolling (vertical) to use the left side instead of the right. I am left-handed, and it would be much more convenient for me to use the left side.

I have looked at the man pages for xinput and frankly am lost. I do not know which variable to set, and what to set it to.

xinput --list outputs the following:

You have done your homework. Unfortunately, I don't see any parameters that can be changed to allow left-edge scrolling. It's possible that it is hardcoded in the the module. What module is loaded for the DualPoint?

If you can find the source code for that module, you could modify it and then recompile it and load it. It's possible that it is hardcoded for the right side. I have an Alps Glidepoint (single touch only) and I couldn't find any switches to change it either. Fortunately, I'm right handed, otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight thinking about how to change it.

You could try setting the coordiate transform matrix to -1 from 1 and see what happens. My guess is that it will simply turn everything upside down. Which will give you left side scrolling, but everything will be backwards.
