    Talking Will my netbook run smooth with ubuntu 12.04?

    my netbook em 350
    1gb ram
    hdd 150
    1.67 processor
    vcard shared 256

    I want to know if i will have problems with my drivers and if my specs are sufficient.

    It should be "ok" if you tweak things. But with Chrome open with 5 to 10 tabs I think you'll be close to RAM limits. :/

    If you want to stick with Ubuntu and for those specs, I would recommend Lubuntu:

    It'll probably run, but not smoothly. If you want smooth, try Lubuntu or Xubuntu.

    Best way to find out if it'll run smooth and/or need fiddling with drivers is to boot a live USB and see.

    I knew ubuntu 12.10 will be release this 18th but how about these OSs u mention?

    Stick with 12.04 for now; long term support so you don't have to upgrade every year.

    Newer versions tend to be heavier on resources so I would not worry about them.
    If you don't make backups of your important data, your data is obviously not important to you.

    That hardware will run Unity 2D with no problems at all (mine does). Give it a go with the standard download from ubuntu.com/download pion33r. At the log on screen, click the icon next to your name and select "Unity 2D" as the desktop environment.

    Xubuntu/ Lubuntu are both fairly lightweight, but Fluxbox could be worth a try as well.
