Hi,
I am a total newbie to Ubuntu and am seeking assistance with a mobile broadband issue.
Since upgrading to 12.04 32 bit, Ubuntu has stopped detecting any Huawei 3G modem (I've tried 3). I have since tried running Ubuntu 11.10 from the live CD and the modem is detected in this case. I have tried a Sierra modem on 12.04 from another network provider and this seems to work fine.
The Huawei modem did work on one occasion, after I booted into Windows to see if it worked there, when I rebooted back into Ubuntu I still had the modem plugged in and it was detected, but then after removing the modem and reinserting it, it no longer worked.
I am running Ubuntu on a Dell N5110 laptop. The modem is a Huawei K3771.
Any help as to where to start troubleshooting this problem would be appreciated.
