Files larger than 1GB never start copying from camera

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. It connects just fine with the usb cable, and I can copy pictures and videos just fine. However, if one of said videos exceeds 1GB, it simply never starts copying. Neither nautilus, nor shotwell are able to copy it off. As a result I have not been able to capture certain moments that I would have liked to. I was going to report a bug, but I wasn't sure where I should report it, and I also wondered if there was a solution.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You should definitely report the bug. Both Shotwell and Nautilus rely on GPhoto for downloading photos and videos from cameras, so the first place to check would be the GPhoto bug database to see if anyone reported it:

Thanks I'll be sure to do that!
