Desktop effects disabled after ATI driver install attempt

    Hi.

The other day I tried to install the ATI drivers for my video card. THe card was working fine before I tried to install the drivers, but I had heard that ATI enabled sound through DVI, and I wanted to watch Anime Network on my TV, so I thought I'd try. The install failed multiple times, and now my desktop effects are disabled. I try to re-enable them in System Settings > Desktop Effects, and I get a message saying they have been suspended by another application, but I can't get them to resume. Any suggestions?

Edit: I forgot to mention, the video chipset is Radeon 760G, also called Radeon 3000.
