Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I use the default theme because I like it so much, very relaxing to the eye
I hate blue, like the brown (or orange in my case). Blue is just too standard, I think brown is an excellent choice of ubuntu. Hope it'll stay that way. If you like it to be blue, you should, like you did, theme it...
Huh?
You should consider installing clearlooks-cairo and get the Clearlooks-Cairo Human theme, its a bit less brown but with nicer contrasts.

You can change the appearance using 'themes'. It's similar to theme on firefox, but it affects everything, not just firefox.
I actually use the smokey blue theme, and have a black backgroundin front of which i have my scaled wallpapers, which change every hour thanks to crontab. I'm not really bashing the distro, and i have it customised nicely, but I just wandered if anyone else felt the smae way about the brown. Each to their own i guess!
indeed most of my wallpapers are from deviantart
I felt the same way you did at first. I guess I was used to computerscreens looking blue and grey / metalish. It has grown on me now since it has a much warmer feel about it. I actually don't like blue anymore cause to me it looks pretty cold and 90's...Originally Posted by richardward101
