Pretty much when you compact the forum page to the width you guys are it will start to behave very bad.Originally Posted by hod139

If 640px is the limit, I guess that's fine. But why does the quote block correctly shrink below 640px and not the code block?
Edit: I suppose what I'm asking is why doesn't the code block shrink and a scroll bar appear if needed?

So... a 1337 java programmer walks into a bar...
I don't see list of people viewing threads...
I don't see the "Who's also browsing this thread" anymore. I always liked seeing who is "lurking around..."
The icon for Kubuntu 5.10 on the first page if that of ubuntu... I think it will be nice to change it to the blue one like the one just below it....!!!
One more....!!! it could be a bug in FF1.5 too...please see the screen shot attached....
the left portion is where I place the 'help> about mozilla firefox' window to show the version and see how it turned out... marked as [2]
the bug i want to point out is marked as [1]
thanks...

A bug I have been noticing ever more is the one relating to the CODE and the INDENT tags: they seems to disrupt the message layout everytime! (I'm on FF 1.5 here)
Example, check this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=142481 (yes, it's one of mine )
You can notice that, on every post that the CODE/INDENT tags were used, the message got it's layout distorted in some way.
On the first post, you can see the message is larger than the forum borders (INDENT cause). Not only that, but the column that shows the user info is compressed, compared to the default (CODE+INDENT). The CODE tag used by itself displaces the left column by just a few pixels (compared to posts that didn't use it).
I believe this is buggy behaviour and should be avoided, as it disrupts overall forum layout and decreases readability.
On the flipside, the QUOTE tag works very well and doesn't disrupt the layout at all, even for long texts. (unless there is a CODE or INDENT tag inside the quoted message...)
Based on this buggy layout behaviours, I believe the CODE and INDENT tags should be revised.
Proof of concept:
Indented code:Code:CODE here
