In the end all distros are very similar... It's all linux. I'm not going to attempt anything as silly as trying to name something no other distro has. I just like the things that Arch has and so I'm using it.

This one cracked me up! Use something like Slackware, Lunar, Sorcerer or Gentoo, then I would believe you.

I won't speak for everyone, but that's what I like about Arch:

    - Arch keeps it simple, yet it allows me to build my system from ground up

    - Rolling release (a big plus in my eyes)

    - Arch doesn't include stupid features that I don't need

    - Did I mentioned rolling release?

hilarious! I had a very similar experience; even left Arch installed for 3 or 4 months and played around with it a few times but all the hype only lead to disappointment. Great distro but perhaps I had too high expectations and it just didn't live up to satisfy.

I would say now a days must distros are just as good as the others, I prefer Ubuntu over all.
I've had similar thoughts on openSUSE. A lot of good things mentioned about it but it seems to fall flat on implementation for me.

Rolling releases are overrated anyway. Most of the time, you absolutely don't need the newer version of a program. But of course, "my distro has a newer Pidgin version than yours, neener, neener!"

I use OpenSuse as a Xen dom0, and it's really good (not like I would use it for anything else, though).

    +1

"Rolling Releases, Rolling Releases, Rolling Releases!" are way over pushed! and only lead to further disappointment in "Arch, Arch, Arch!"

Not really. With rolling release distro you don't need to reinstall every 6 months (or so). Newer programs can have many useful features, it's not just about version numbers. I know, you can have newest apps in Ubuntu too, but with Arch it's just simpler.

For starters there's AUR. But then again you're not really interested in the topic anyway, so why waste ascii bytes?
