    Installing to a Mac iBook

I have an iBook (4th gen maybe?) and I am trying to install ubuntu to it. The probelm is that the OS has been deleted from it. Is there a way that I can boot from ubuntu and install it without a mac OS?

If it has no OS (i.e. empty hard drive), you are free to install ubuntu without worrying about any dual-boot scenario.

Check the release notes of the version you are installing ... try the liveCD ... and when ready, install.

What would the release notes have to do with booting from the disc?

Also, I've tried booting my G4 iBook from an ubuntu disc (9.04) and it won't recognize it.

Thank you! That's what I was asking about. I looked at that exact page and wondered if my ibook was a ppc. Now i know it is. Thanks!
