compiz.....

i am having some serious problem with compiz. after installing the compiz, i made some settings change.....
the problem is when i click on something the screen goes black and i cant do anything. for this reason i am unable to use my pc. i tried to execute the command "melacity --replace" from the failsafe console. but it takes too much time to exucute...
i am in a big problem. please help me to solve the problem...

try booting normally and once the desktop has loaded hit alt+f2 and then enter in metacity --replace

No. Alt + F2 gets you the run command dialog box. Ctrl-Alt-F1 drops you to the console.

Try swim's suggestion. It shouldn't have trouble...

Also, what settings did you dabble with?
